Specific Functions

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to the casino operation to ensure the business is operating in a sound and fiscally responsible manner and that it is aligned with a branded customer service philosophy.

  • Apply marketing and analytical severity to the desired positioning objectives within the market in an effort to improve both top and bottom line performance.

  • Provide strategic direction for the business. Keep abreast of the increasingly competitive environment of the gaming industry in each market.

  • Represent the property to the Board of Directors or Tribal Council at inter-governmental and legislative meetings.

  • Responsible for development and execution of systems and strategies that maximize financial performance, operational efficiencies, and the long-term success of the property.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all Federal and State rules and regulations governing gaming operations.

  • Ensure that the Casino’s Business Plan is adequate, excellent, monitored, updated and properly executed.

  • Expand market share and set direction for the company to optimize profitability.

  • Analyze and summarize financial documentation, identify trends, develop solutions, and establish long-range objectives, plans, and policies to improve financial performance.

  • Represent the Casino to the business community, customers, outside organizations, tribal members, and/or the general public, attend meetings, ceremonies, seminars, and trade shows.

  • Meet with the Owners, Tribal Council, or Board task committees, and/or tribal government employees requiring Casino information or assistance.


Proficient in the required knowledge of:

  • Hospitality industry principles and practices.

  • Marketing Casinos

  • Gaming Operations

  • Indian gaming operations, including on and off-reservation gaming issues.

  • Casino policies and procedures.

  • Gaming regulations and Minimum Internal Control Standards.

  • Business plans and strategic objectives relative to gaming operations.

  • Financial statements, operating reports, and methods for improving financial performance.

  • Processes for developing and administering budgets.

  • Supervisory principles, practices, and methods.

 

Additional Management Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise all key executives including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Administrative Assistant. Indirectly supervise Division Directors.

  • Recruit, inspire, develop and motivate key staff.

  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and oversight of a core team of senior-level staff.

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws and in alignment with Brand Promise and Business Vision.

  • Strategic direction for casino operations ensuring the Casino operates in a fiscally responsible manner.

  • Maintain compliance with regulations governing gaming operations.

  • Analyze financial documentation and developing solutions to improve performance.

  • Report Casino performance to the Board and providing business recommendations.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a team environment.

  • Develop and administer budgets and monitor expenditures.

  • Supervise, lead, and delegate tasks and authority to senior level staff.
